I usually bring my lunch. I never know where I'll end up in NYC at lunch time, and even when there's a kosher restaurant close by it can take the entire half-hour I get to find parking.
We have a cafeteria. We're a bit off the beaten path (10-12 minute drive to the nearest restaurants), so the cafeteria is a lifesaver. Before I changed agencies, my building was minutes from my house. I could go home for lunch every day. I miss that.
I never eat lunch, I'm too busy. I never eat breakfast, either. Too busy for dinner, so I have just one big late-evening snack.
Don't you even get hungry? I rarely eat breakfast on a work day, but I always have at least 1 or 2 cups of coffee prior to leaving. By lunchtime, I'm famished.
If I didn't eat out, I packed my lunch and ate out in the park....getting away from the office was necessary for my sanity. I tried to eat in the lunch room but there was no privacy or quiet and people wanted to talk to me about work. I don't get paid for lunch...I don't want to talk about work, I want to read.
I was there a week when I realized I was going to lose it....went home and bought an insulated lunch bag, and packed a fleece blanket.
That hour off and away allowed me to stay there for eight years.

That's pretty much my situation.
I work in an office building with very few windows, and I'm in an interior office with no natural light. We have a lunch room/kitchenette, but no food service in the building, and nothing within walking distance either (but there are a number of options a short drive away). There are no public parks nearby, nor is there an outdoor seating area at our facility.
It's either pack a lunch and eat inside the building, or drive someplace nearby and get something. I sometimes bring a lunch, but am often interrupted during my unpaid lunch break for a work-related matter. If I'm not in the office at that time, whatever it is just has to wait until I get back.
I enjoy getting out of the building for a while in the middle of the day, and seeing some daylight. So I choose to eat out most of the time.
Home is not an option for me. But pretty much everything else.
If my schedule is clear, we'll head out for lunch. My credenza also looks more like a pantry (canned soup, bags of almonds, tea leaves, etc.) in case I have to eat and work. I also keep frozen food in the kitchen fridge.
