Advertisements

A legit company called me ten times since I replied to one of their many advertisements that they posted on Craigslist within the past few days, and this began within 5-10 minutes of me sending them my resume. Does this mean that I'm more likely to be hired? Every time I set up a job interview after being spammed, I get hired right on the spot.

No. It means they are likely desperate or lack any quality applicants.

If you start getting them to come to you for bigger jobs it could mean they like your skills. But for entry level jobs that would not be the case.

Yes, only good things come from spam, a job, knock-off merchandise, penis pills, and nude pictures of celebrities.

It means they would hire anyone who would reply back, who in this case is no one. This is a tremendously large red flag. Do not ignore it.

Why do you believe they're a "legit" company? Honestly, everything you're saying screams the opposite.

Agreed ^. What makes it a "legit" company?

It might be a legitimate company, per se, but the job is probably something like selling encyclopedias door-to-door. Or it's very likely multi-level marketing.

It's unlikely to be a legit company if they are using craigslist.

That said, why are you looking for a job if you have been hired? I'm not sure I understand.

Legit companies post on craigslist all the time. Many remain anonymously but there are cases when they reveal their names and contact information. Mostly smaller businesses utilize it, but I've seen several eventually move on to post on Indeed later on. Of course, you have to be careful of scams and recruiting agenices on CL but they're usually very easy to spot.

I agree that legit companies use Craigslist all the time. In my field non-profit this is especially true. Are there scams there also? Yes, you just have to be savvy to weed them out before replying. This one however sounds like a scam if they are posting multiple advertisements and calling you 10 times for an interview. What legit job does that, that you would want?! Run the other way as fast as you can. What kind of job is this anyway?
