Hi,
Long story short, I'm looking to change jobs so that I can finally work a job that I'll be passionate about and truly love. I've read a couple career passion books (What Color is Your Parachute and Find Your Career Passion Now) and I also went on a few career aptitude websites. The results I have gotten from online tests have usually focused on a short-listing of HR, PR, Social Worker, Arbitrator, Labor Relations Specialist, Clergy (based on my single days not sure if I'm "holy enough" for that one, lol), or a Radio/TV producer, or actor.
However, I took a different test and the results of this test actually jumped out at me and rang true. The problem being that it didn't list jobs which may be a great match, so I was hoping to see if anyone on here has a similar personality/character profile as me and if so, what work they do professionally.
First of all, I'm categorized as an ESFP (Extroverted, Sensing, Feeling, Perceptive) and my top skills are:
Communication, Risk Taking, Team work, Innovation, and Integrity (Guess I should cross off a career in politics, mwahaha). My bottom ranked skill is Leadership (That one kinda hurt). Also, I am good at imitating people and making different voices (like granny, southerner, nasally mid-westerner, Asian person, etc.), so that is one of my key strengths. Also, that ability to do weird voices probably explains many of my lonely nights in high school and college
.
Okay, but seriously, so far in my life I have found "fire and passion" when I write books dealing with humor. I am also writing scripts out for Youtube videos. But, as is, that is more of my "side hustle" and I still need a full-time job.
Any helpful suggestions on a career based on my key strengths would be helpful. My prior work experience is in Teaching and General Office work (shiver) and I have a BA degree in Economics. However, being an economist and sitting in an office all-day doing dull research is professional hell on earth to me. If I can get a decent job without getting a Masters degree, that would be preferable, as well.
Thanks! :-)
