I think it's really weird they want it though. They should just make you an offer and you can negotiate from there. Let them know you have consistent and flexible hours with this second job that you rely on, etc. I basically agree with what OutdoorLover suggested
One employer wouldn't know why you are seeking a second job. It might be temporary or it might be because you need to pay off debt. That isn't an employer's business to know.

Absurd. They have no "rights" to see a pay stub that has nothing to do with them. All anyone is required to do is indicate how much they make which can be verified by HR.

Maybe they want to know your total wage so they can deduct your correct amount on your total rate so you don't have to pay in next April 15.

That still would be none of their business. It's not your main employers job to get a pay stub from any part-time job you may have -- so that the main jobs take take out enough withholding so you won't owe taxes in April. It's not even their concern.

That jobs is really going to care about your withholding because of another job?

AND the main employer wouldn't even know you had another job if you hand told them in the first place.

Why is everyone assuming the worst? Her current job wants to offer her a second job - but wants to make sure that she doesn't lose anything in the switch from her other PT job to theirs. It's for verification most likely. If they called her current PT job to verify, she could conceivably get fired from that job. They just don't want her to lose out on anything. Not all employers are evil.

Just pretend you aren't so into the job, nor need the $$, then suddenly they'll give you the hours/pay you want over the other more "hungry" employee. Obviously you need to do well at your job or this doesn't work. And won't work for everyone, it's more food for thought. If you think it will work....please keep us updated
