Do they know what your second job is? They could be trying to get away with paying you less, but they could also just want to make sure they offer you a pay that makes it worth leaving said second job.
I think it's really weird they want it though. They should just make you an offer and you can negotiate from there. Let them know you have consistent and flexible hours with this second job that you rely on, etc. I basically agree with what OutdoorLover suggested

I'm not sure I see the issue. It sounds like they have an opportunity for you so that your second job is with them as well as your first. If they want to see the pay stub then assume they want to pay you what your current job pays you. You just have to decide if you want your second job to be with them or where you are now. If none of that interests you then turn them down and keep things status quo.
Absurd. They have no "rights" to see a pay stub that has nothing to do with them. All anyone is required to do is indicate how much they make which can be verified by HR.

That still would be none of their business. It's not your main employers job to get a pay stub from any part-time job you may have -- so that the main jobs take take out enough withholding so you won't owe taxes in April. It's not even their concern.
That jobs is really going to care about your withholding because of another job?
AND the main employer wouldn't even know you had another job if you hand told them in the first place.
Why is everyone assuming the worst? Her current job wants to offer her a second job - but wants to make sure that she doesn't lose anything in the switch from her other PT job to theirs. It's for verification most likely. If they called her current PT job to verify, she could conceivably get fired from that job. They just don't want her to lose out on anything. Not all employers are evil.
My current employer has offered me an additional job but wants my pay stub from my current 2nd job to match it. Jobs have nothing to do with each other and there are no rules about having an additional job as long as all duties are being met.My main job is in education and my moonlighting job is in retail. I think they are just trying to get away paying me cheap. Not realizing that the closer we get to the holidays the more hours I can work. The job at school would be hourly but no guarantee of hours. Feeling very frustrated and just about ready to tell them thanks but no thanks.
Tell them you have your check electronically deposited and offhand, do not have an account to look that up for them. You'd need to notify the retails payroll personel. Then add that will take some time...so 'If this isn't something you are comfortable with, fine" Make sure to say it positively then add whatever hourly wage you need to have. Be polite and upbeat, very light about it.
The reason is, if you want it, then it's human nature for them to not want to give it to you. That's what I've learned at my work. Just pretend you aren't so into the job, nor need the $$, then suddenly they'll give you the hours/pay you want over the other more "hungry" employee. Obviously you need to do well at your job or this doesn't work. And won't work for everyone, it's more food for thought. If you think it will work....please keep us updated
