I don't care if other people talk about things I don't care about, but I'm super annoyed, that it's like high school or something, where I need to provide social support or entertainment while I work and I am getting bugged about it, because I sit quietly and just work. What the hell is the problem? My boss didn't hire me. He is just my supervisor. I can not focus on my work and chit chat.

He seems like a nice guy in some ways but I can not conform to the personality type he wants and work.
My supervisor is extremely outgoing, but respects each of our personalities and we are not forced to conform to a common "one size fits all" personality type. Personally, I am laid back and quiet but still am able to be part of a cohesive unit. I converse when I want to and other times I have my headphones on, which is about 90% of the time. I have a reputation for being quiet, but approachable.

As for your situation, I have never heard of a supervisor who actually encouraged employees to talk while trying to get work done. Maybe it's his way of building unity and cohesion among your team, but he's approaching it from an awkward angle by forcing interactions, which could have a negative result. The chemistry is either there, or it's not.

This is not a serious job. It's just a part time job for extra money. I work for myself as well, which pays a lot better, but it's not always full time, so it's nice getting a consistent paycheck, although it's not enough to live on.

Most of my previous adult jobs have been more professional. But I can't work for myself and do a full time professional job.

So I think I'm going to look for another part time job, then quit this one.

Weird rules/criticisms haven't stopped. I have to clock in. I literally clocked in 30 seconds before my start time, according to the computer. My supervisor actually came up to me and said, "I'm going to need you to come in a few mins earlier" I said, I clocked in 30 seconds before starting time. He said, "We go by the clock on the wall." So by the clock on the wall, I was like 2 minutes late. Yeah..ok. It's official. I'm working with for control freaks that thrive off of being able to tell their employees they did something wrong.

So they get to put me down for nonsense and I'm going to let them do that till I quit without notice.

If they complain that you're too quiet, try being more assertive, then they'll complain about that too.

lol.. Actually a lady quit and I he said something about her talking too much.

I've dealt with people like this before and the trick to dealing with them is to not having anything to do with them. What they are doing is boosting their ego by putting people down. That's something that can't be fixed.
