Many employers there hold the passports of the workers - basically stranding them there. This is so common, that the government had to pass a law forbidding it with heavy fines.

So do not allow your employer to keep the passport and make sure that your right to keep your passport with you at all times is in your contract. Keep a photocopy of your passport with you at all times.

I had an idea of working there temporarily in the distant future - Maybe like 10 years from now. But after reading that article I am not stepping foot in that country at all. No thanks!

"Guilty until proven innocent" - Hell that sounds just like America - Except worse because you're not a citizen there and have even less rights than here.
