Hello,
Recently I've noticed a trend at the company I work for. There seems to be at least 100-200 internal applicants for each job. I have had a few internal interviews, and have been told the high number of internal applicants. To me, this points to an over dissatisfaction among employees regardless of department. Even when we hired to fill a position in my current department, we had 80 applicants in the first day and "well over 300" to choose from within a week. Should this be seen as an issue or just a sign of the times? FWIW the company employees around 150,000 globally, and currently has around 200 openings company-wide.
It sounds like people wanting to better themselves as opposed to dissatisfaction. The number of job openings is a small fraction of 1 percent, and the number of applicants is equally low. I don't consider to be either an issue or a sign of the times.

Exactly. Why stagnate? Instead of dissatisfaction, what about normal ambition?

If that were true, they'd be applying for a DIFFERENT COMPANY.
