If I had a job to quit - I'd quit! With 100 million, I'd dance to my heart's content and start my own dance-related business. Actually, I am going to do that anyway - without the 100 million.
Coming across that kind of money could change my perspective but the way I feel right now, I would stay at my job for another year or two. Maybe longer. The experience I'm gaining at work beats out academia hands down. After a few years I'd go back to school and finish my ph d and then open my own institute.
Let's say you have a job, and you hit the lottery or are just given $100 million. Would you keep your job or quit?
If you would stay at your job, humor me and tell everyone what your job is... I think we could stand to hear about some jobs that are loved.
I am in a religious ministry, and love my vocation. So I would not quit if I won 100 million federal reserve notes.
I would use the funds to build a frugal, energy efficient high population density urban environment, with rail based mass transit, pedestrian friendly walkways, mixed use development (close proximity of homes to necessities).
I don't have a job now but if I did, I would quit and do good things with the money (help others). Yes, you might say that is b.s. but it is the truth.
I would also buy myself a nice car and travel and buy a house.
**Probably not. I would start my own business and some non-profit businesses.
A lot of people who invest their lottery winnings into a business go bankrupt within five years. A little Business 101; you never invest your own money into a business, no matter how much money you have.

I honestly do not know what I would do, but I sure have fantasized about it. Maybe if someone gave me 100 mil it would give me the opportunity to find out. I'll have to get back to you in a few years, though, to let you know how I have been spending my time.
