It was about a total of 9 candidates and during the process I initiated the group communication, and then was not shy to answer questions when the interviewers asked-"why do you think we had you guys form a group? I also asked more questions than everyone else when the interviewers asked-"does anyone have questions for us?

But the two people they chose to interview one on one was not as talkative as me. And they told the rest of us we could leave. The one time I thought being SHY wpuld hurt me and it seemed like I over did it.

So showing leadership abilities and being outspoken is a bad thing in a group interview?

A leader facilitates a group conversation and encourages those who are less outgoing to express themselves. A leader not does dominate the conversation.

That's what I did. They told us to form a group and once we did that everyone looked back at the interviewers like Now what? And the interviewers didn't say anything so then that's when I said-

"ok well I guess we can start off by introducing ourselves to the group and I will start it off. My name is.... and"

I thought I would STICK out in a good way for sure by doing that.

You never know what's on the mind of the decisionmaker. The best you can do is be yourself as you wouldnt want a position where you are constantly fighting against your natural instinct/personality.

The point is that they might have thought you were too talkative or domineering of the conversation or group. It's also possible that the two they chose to interview had better resumes to begin with.

I am sorry for the fact that you were not one of the two that were chosen!

Dont' read too much into it, since 7 people were not chosen and I am sure that when they came home to their wifes, girlfriends and loved ones, they had lots of dialgue trying to figure out why they were not one of the lucky 2! And I am sure that they all felt that they did something wrong or asked one or two more questions than the other seven! Thats life, we get to try and try again!!

We are rooting for you!! Good luck for next week and try not to psych yourself out!!

Leaders come in all colors, shapes and sizes! some like to make jokes, some like to swing the girls, some like to be eveyone's buddy, some like to compartmentalize, some have fatthers who were directors of the CIA and bought his way to the top, some are just plain stupid, some are beautiful and wear nice glasses, some are cute and have dates with suicidal actresses, some lye and break into journalists office, some walk pickets lines and talk quiet, some carry a big stick.

It takes all personality types to make a world!!

Wishing you the best for next week!!

This was very tough to swallow because the job was close to home and I had finally created a new resume that was able to get me a interview close to home. I was so tired of going to interviews that was not in my area. But like you said next week is a new week

Just out of curiousity, what are you changing so drastically in your resume that makes you think iit got you an interview.
A resume has your education and work history, which would include any awards, projects or programs you developed or led, and your career goals. All those are pretty cut and dried, so what gets changed?
