I'm just curious. I accidentally came across a web page that claimed that the citizens of Cork City consider thier city the "real" capital of Ireland, and the person who wrote the blog was bashing Cork because he was a Dubliner. I was just curious if this is a common rivelry between the two cities? Thanks.

Seeing as the Republic of Ireland (where both Cork and Dublin are located) is not a part of the UK, how about we move this one over to the World forum?

That is interesting..the vice-versa, and the Dubliner not like Cork!

Generally whenever you have two places similar to each other...the smaller one is jealous as all hell...and the bigger one isn't even aware of the other's existance!

---------

All that being said, I have made it to Dublin (and liked it), and have been wanting to go to CORK...but in my mind, I have already decided it probably just a smaller, (possibly more Irish) version of Dublin.

Oh, very biased indeed!

I love Cork City (Ireland's real capitol doncha know, boy!)

I love Limerick City too though - The real capitol of RUGBY!

OP--there's no hate, just gentle ribbing.

Not a fan of Stab City either!
I went to Cark City and Limerick for Football matches (Shelbourne FC fan!) many a time and never liked Cork lol Good rivalry between fans though.

Ah, that's just mean, you big meanie.

My husband's a Limerick man. He's never been involved with stabbers that he's told me about! It's common knowledge that Limerick women are the best looking in Ireland though (if they can stay alive). lol

Dubliners would always invade out beautiful harbor town on the weekends to dock their boats and act like arseholes bragging away in the pubs at how much stuff they owned and what kind of cars they drove, what kind of wine they collected. Surely not you though!
