As a person who was born and grew up in a different country and been to several places around the world, i have noticed that most people around the globe associate the U.S. with these three the most often. What you guys think? Has this been true in your experience or No?
No. American music styles almost universally didn’t come from California nor did American foods that got exported. Although NY has a stronger argument there it’s still not the greatest constributer.
This is such a narrow-minded take, I'm sorry. America is well known and a world super power for much more than just its military, and ESPECIALLY New York and California. "The land of the free" and "land of opportunity" thing is what this country historically is best known for, not a state and city. The military is known but I don't think that is the main thing either.
That said, in modern times are not the same as the past. Nowadays I would agree major cities like NYC and LA/Cali are more known, but this has been a very recent thing. We also were known for having the best economy and biggest GDP in the world... not so much anymore. Still, I think that is more a reason why the U.S. is so known even today, not two places (California especially, seems like its own country/place at times, pretty disconnected from the rest of the country, and only rose to prominence over the past 70 or so years).

I would say yes, due to movies, music industry, and technology (Apple). Most times that is the world's only exposure to the US.
For a long time the U.S. was known for its Westerns, and we were called a cowboy culture. So throw Texas in there as well.
