Thanks!

4th from the bottom....
United States *** 15 10 25
*** In the United States, federal law does not mandate pay for time not worked. Vacation policies vary widely, many organisations provide one week of vacation after six months of service, two weeks after one to five years of service and three weeks after five to 10 years of service.

In other words, if you have one of those dwindling career jobs, this is the case for the US. Too many more are now living with hardly any, if any, paid vacations nor paid holidays.

Canada actually lists fewer, though the standard for which they increase seems more uniform, unlike the US. UK and Netherlands are almost as bad as the US. South Korea gets more total than all of them. Japan is just below the usual leaders in Europe. Finland wins with 44.

Belgium:
Standard is 38 hours a week, so it is 7h 36 minutes a day. (monday-friday)
Working on saturday means payment at 150%, on sundays and holidays 200%.
Ten holidays from the state (like Christmas), and 20 days payed vacation as a minimum.

For the people talking about "lazy" employees:
We are still highly productive
Isn't the USA the only country in the develloped world where people nowadays work longer than 30 years ago?

Belgium has 20 minimum paid days + 10 public holidays = 30 paid days off.
30 days total days off is what average American worker gets after about 5 - 10 years in service.

But remember, yes Americans work slightly more than average European, but Americans also live in more luxury lifestyle, such as larger and beautiful homes, bigger or luxury cars etc.

So it's the price they pay?
I bet it's only for the top 35% richest that can afford the "luxury" lifestyle.
And what are "beautiful" houses? Is it a carton 13-in-dozen house, or a place where you can spend time with friends and family?
It is just a point of view.

I was talking the minimum. So, 30 days is a minimum. "Average" Belgians have more payed vacation.

American homes (average area, about 2000 square feet) are far larger than homes in any European country (average area, 1000 square feet), with bigger yards. They are also more well-appointed. An average American from a given social class would find life in most European countries for that same (or even higher) social classes to be materially austere. This is not necessarily to say "worse".

Overworked and underpaid in the USA, lol.

I heard Spain and France rank pretty high. Hours worked per day? Days worked per week? Vacation days per month? Ect? Any personal knowledge?
Employees don't know how good they have it. I'd love to see the figures for business owners. I expect mine will fall around 3800 hours this year.
