Came across this list:
London most important city to the world
Seems pretty reasonable except for Sydney being there. Not talking bad about Sydney. I have visited and like many others loved it but to be among the top seems strange to me. Do you guys agree with that list?

London. It's where all the biggest banks are, and incidentally where all the money is.

London... for convenience, basically. Geographically, it's so close to Europe, the Middle East, even South Asia and Africa. A much larger pool of rich people are a convenient plane flight from the city. NYC is close behind, but it's a long overnight plane flight away from much of the world's people.

After London and NYC I wouldn't have a clue. Not the circles I move in...

Yeah in LA there's like a whole mountain range extremely rich people live on...

London
NYC
LA

But where does Hong Kong go? Or Dubai? Vancouver Canda has wealthy people but not the really rich/influential. Vancouver is more like daddy owns sweatshop back in China type rich. While LA, NYC, London, and Hong Kong have huge companies with the owners and chief officers there, high government officials, celeberties, etc. much more influential bunch than China's rich that live in Vancouver.

After London and NYC, I would say the San Francisco Bay Area although it wouldn't be any one city. Apple alone has enough disposable income to buy several other major corporations and still have money left over. Apple could buy the Czech Republic and still have money left over.

It is Monaco obviously.
35% people living in Monaco are millionnaires VS 3%/4% in New York or London !

It is not Monaco. Most wealthy people in the world do not go or live there.

I don't think SF, Vancouver, Sydney, Tokyo, Paris, Frankfurt, Berlin, Seoul and Taipei generate a lot of wealth for the wealthy people. In fact, it is less easy to get rich quick legally in these cities, even if you have a lot of money already.

Important cities for the wealthy=important financial centres and cities where the rich people's money keep increasing. It means the places where the rich invest or do business in. Not exactly the place where the rich people live.
