There are a lot of reasons for being poor, there is what you posted and there is also laziness, drugs and gambling.
yeah those kids born to HIV mothers in countries like the CONGO waste all their money on drugs and refuse to pay attention in college , not mention their lack of enthusiasm for the endless job opportunities which exist on their door step
plenty of billionaires attained their wealth through nefarious means and practices or if they themselves didn't , their ancestors did , their are plenty of decent " self made " super wealthy people but its naïve to think all of them are , that statistic ( richest 85 wealthier than half the planet ) is strikingly obscene

It's a debate about the billionaire who squirrels money away in the Cayman Islands vs the middle-class doctor earning $100k a year.

Look up Zhang Xin and read her story, she didn't just get lucky.... she worked her butt off and saved up a lot of money.
