I'm curious to know what $500,000 can buy in your city/country.
Please be specific to the city you live in and choose a normal part of town, meaning, don't say what $500,000 can buy in the best part of town or the worst part of town.

Why would anyone waste $500,000 to live in a "normal part of town"? There are no houses or apartments for that price in a "normal" part of my town because no one could afford them, so no one builds them there. You only find that in a part of town populated by well-heeled professionals.
That would be 365,000 euros. Most of these places are cheaper than that. I have tried to pick the offerings with the most photos, there are many others.
you could buy a very nice three bedroom two story house in a better than average part of the capital , with that kind of money , you could buy any kind of house anywhere else in the entire country , six bedroom with a pool if it was in a poor location
Generally 4 or 5 bedrooms. 200 sq m or 2200 sq ft or more. The basement is almost always "finished" so this adds even more space and is not counted in the total living space I just mentioned.
Lot size usually 500 sq m or 6000 sq ft or more. Often with a pool or hot tub or both in the back yard.
About 10 km from city centre. Close to schools, shopping, recreation, public transport, etc.
