First go I got 177/ 197. After a while, the map gets so crowded it's hard to see what you've got and what you've forgotten, if you're going back over it again. On my 3rd try I got 191/197, but forgot some well-known countries like Austria, Pakistan, and Barbados. I can never remember Barbados! I got all of Africa though
Note: It does count some disputed teritories as countries, such as Palestine and Kosovo, but neglects some others such as Western Sahara
185/197 on the first try.
Don't want to give away the countries i didn't got but 6 of them are located in the Caribbean and the other 6 in the Pacific.
I had a few goes and got 156 after I sorted a few spellings out, found I was more hampered by my ability to type quickly than ability to remember the names in the end.
Still i never think I could name them all, the little islands in the Caribbean sea are my problem.
I thought the question was "How many can I write down on a sheet of paper, without a map?" I'd probably miss a few islands, but I'd come up with all the names of those on continents.
But I've never bothered to lern the correct order of all the Lesser Antilles, or the positions of all the Pacific archipelagos. It would be a guess which one is Turkmenistan and which is Kirgyzstan.

Mixing up the position of the -Stans/Lesser Antilles/Pacific Islands is not a shame but for a person with at least a little bit interest in the world not knowing where Canada/USA/Mexico/Brazil/South Africa/Iceland/Ireland/UK/Italy/Greece/Turkey/Egypt/Russia/India/China/Korea/Japan/Australia/New Zealand is, is imo.
