Teaching English Abroad ! (home, public school, tax)

I've done some online research but I have not found anything usefull or concrete information about the subject. This is something that I find very interesting and I see as a "realistic" posivility for almost any English-Speaking-Degree-holding individual.

Can Anyone share their experiences on this subject matter?

or can you share what you know about this?

There are many websites that "claim" to do this but most are just trying to get your money for the TEFL certification or other kinds of classes.

I have not done this myself but a know of quite a few people who have taught english in South Korea. This seems to be a very popular option. My sister is about to go there...she will be on a year contract, teaching english in a public school in Daegu. They provide her housing, she gets around $1200-$1500 US a month tax free and a bonus at the end. She has a degree and I think she said she did a TEFL course online.

There is a huge demand for english teachers where I live (Hong Kong) but it's not such an attractive option unless you are already living here since the cost of living is astronomical.
