I was put in a youth prison because there was no space in a rehab center at that moment.
I never lived a life of crime, i'm a good guy, you can say that i'm not living up to my potential sure but definitely not a criminal.
I know muslims from outside prison too, almost all of them pray but also smoke tobacco/hash/marijuana and drink alcohol.
A good muslim = bad human
A bad muslim = good human
^If you go by the koran.
Honestly, this is just Muslims living in Europe, it's the same old identity problem, they have taken European habits for the most part but still relate to their religion and partly identify with it. In short words, they are neither fish nor meat
Yes but the thing is that people causing death by drink driving or people smoking in un-designated areas are breaking the law, it is people's right not to get killed by a drunk driver, it is peoples right not to inhale somebody else's cigarette smoke in a restaurant, fair enough, that is why it is illegal to do these things but if I want to drink and smoke myself to death then it is also my right to do so. This is my point about individuals 'freedoms'. I agree with banning people from drinking and driving (its dangerous for others), I agree that smoking in public places should be banned, but I don't agree that a government should 'ban' alcohol altogether!
That's why I asked you this question: How about cocaine?
Well, alcohol is ingrained in the Western cultures, and it's practically everywhere, even in our communions at the church. Approximately 90% of westerners use alcohol, while 1-2% uses cocaine, the difference is overwhealming. Most European thinks that alcohol in moderation is an acceptable thing, so a ban on all liquor would be hugely unpopular and deemed unfair.
And because alcohol is used in antiseptics, biofuel and in a wide range of industrial appliances, should these be banned too?
Cocaine again is a niche product which has a large support for being banned in most countries.
90% of Finns maybe, if counting all Westerners i'm sure the number won't be higher than 65%.
Yes, 90% is probably quite on the high end for regular users, but if you ask instead "have you used alcohol sometimes", 90% is probably quite accurate. I found a study which say that 24% of people in the EU don't drink currently, but 88% said they have drunk alcohol in the last 12 months when the study was made.
If it wasn't for the crime: Colombia and Kenya too.
