I know that epigraphs are commonly prior to a work and intended to give hint of the overall intent or values, but I am noting that especially in film and television, a work may have a reflective terminal epigraph, more than just a "zinger." These statements by characters of the cast are not standard denouement conclusions or morals, nor a Puckish conclusion outside of the action, but true in form to a quoted epigraph, only within the play. I am struggling to find a term describing these. "Terminal epigraph" would be correct but is not elegant, "metagraph" seems obtuse. Does someone know what these are rightly called?
