Hello All,
I need a little guidance. I have a 40 acre piece of ground in the Brooks Ranch. I hear the well water is not very good. So will need to have water brought to me or delivered. What are my options?

If you're close to Casper, try Hillcrest Water for bulk water deliveries.

If you have a decent producing well, you may yet want to consider on-site water purification for your domestic consumption from your cistern storage.

Did you look for water delivery companies in Casper?

Other than Culligan for bottled water, Hillcrest is the only bulk water delivery that I've seen in the area.

A buddy of mine has to haul his own water, so he mounted a big tank on a trailer. Every third day or so, he takes it to work with him and stops by on the way home and fills from city water source. Takes about 10 minutes and he's off. At home he dumps into a cistern.

I live in Evansville on Cole Creek road. I have potable water also. We had to install a Salt water system to take the most Rust out color and reduce most of the scale from the pipes and on surfaces. We had a Osmosis system installed when before we took possession of the house after construction. You will have to play with the percentage of salt added to get it where it cleans the clothes but isn't overpowering you when you drink it. I only use it for Ice Tea making. You can drink the water but it will have salt content in it so we just buy bottled in town for the majority of our consumption. We do cook with it out of the Osmosis tap.
Every 5 to 7 weeks I take and pour 1/2 of one of those 3/4 quart bottles of Clorox Liquid down the well to get the gas/stinky smell out of the well water, it will make the house stink some if we don't and it will almost gag you when showering sometimes. It is best to let it sit in the well for as long as you can, we do it at night just before we go to bed and by morning it will have worked into the surrounding water in the well. You can tell when you need to "bottle the well" when the smell starts coming out when you use the hot water. In the spring you will have to do this maybe every 3 to 4 weeks for a few months.
A few neighbors here fill up at the Evansville water station at the bottom of the road by the Hat Six truck stop and haul it to a cistern also, that don't have water wells.
