Some of those winds are hurricane force winds Jody? Any damage reported?
How are the winds in Star Valley? Did not see them posted on the link.

over here in SE WY, we had persistent 35-45 mph winds with 75 mph gusts through the day until early afternoon.

our barometer was at 29.42 in. That's a real strong low reading, but the AWOS at 82V was reporting the same reading around 9AM.

Here at the ranch, when the winds/gusts died down ... the cloud deck moved lower with some snow flurries. Made for miserable work for the boys rounding and loading out the last of the cows on the pastures around us (they use our corrals and loading chute). Visibility was down to a hundred feet or so for awhile, but the front moved through pretty quickly and cleared by 5 PM.

WYDOT posted the "High Wind Warning" for high profile vehicles and also advised "no unnecessary travel" warning for all vehicles during the time of the stronger gusts earlier in the day.

just back from my local airstrip this AM ... and got to see a number of wind-damaged sites.

at CR 210 at CR 159, there's a number of side-roll sprinklers on the fields. Only they're not intact anymore. Looks like somebody didn't have their anchors down and secured for the units, and the ones that were oriented N-S are really twisted up.

One portion, about 1/4 mile length, was torn off at the drive unit and driven eastward about 200'. Hopped across a road and slammed into the line of power poles on the far side of the road. The pipe was crumpled at each pole and broken apart in at least 6 locations. Otherwise, totally crumpled pipe and bent up beyond any re-use. Several of the support wheels were crumpled, too. I'd estimate close to $10,000 damage to the one side-roll by itself, not including the labor to salvage the sprinkler levelers and some of the wheels and then re-assemble with replacement components.

Folk not familiar with a side-roll sprinkler might not be aware that these don't present a big windage area for the winds to push against. Likely the gusts that touched down at these fields were in excess of 100 mph and were repeated enough times for awhile to get those side roll main pipe moving.

Looks like a couple of barn/outbuilding structures at a couple of farmsteads in the area there were also damaged ... roofs and siding torn off.

Washington state also had some very powerfull winds, I'm assuming that the winds experienced in WY was just a continuation of that storm. In Spokane there were gusts of 71 mph and the record for the state was 137 mph in mission ridge ski area in chelan county, I don't know how acurate that last one is, there was also 119 mph at white pass. And in Seattle it was 51 mph

Actually I just found some more info and the 137 mph was accurate. If you scroll down a bit you will find the other figures for other places.

I've been busy, but I was blown to work in Casper.

I walk about a mile, and the wind pushed me about half of the way. The rest of the way, I pushed against it. It must have averaged out, but it was pretty noteworthy.

Too bad the wind was not at your back, all the way!! Would have made record time.
