Exactly what field are you looking at? There are several really nice health providers in the state. If you want a job in a particular field, look here:

Jobs.

well if you are in a position to work anywhere in the state what kinds of things interest you in a place to live?a lot of places in wyoming are very different in terrain, precipitation, shopping, cost of realestate, distance to major shopping, etc. if employment isnt an issue what things appeal to you in a place to live?a little more info would be helpful.

Well coming from a big booming metropolis I am looking for some peace and quiet for one. Where life is a little slower pace. I am very easy to get along with I will help anyone if they really need it. I came from a very small town and ended up in a very large town. I guess a medium sized town would be great but less than 4 million like I live now. I love shopping and I admit I have things close by me when I need them and it would be a bit hard for me to get used to traveling a ways to get to a store BUT not impossible. I like to think I am pretty flexible. I love the mountains and animals and scenery.

well in wyoming 60,000 people is as booming as it gets,[casper and cheyenne].even 20,000 people is a pretty big city in wyoming.towns are usually pretty spread out.some cities near the border are reasonably close to bigger cities in other states to go shopping on a weekend,[evanston -salt lake city,sundance/newcastle-rapid city sd,cheyenne-ft collins, denver co,powell/cody/sheridan-billings mt].im not much of a shopper myself so i dont need to be near anything bigger than rock springs, gillette,or riverton to satisfy my needs but people are different.

hahahahahaha, you said it right. Spot on. We have 2 humungouse city's in this state. Both are around 60,000. They argue every week who is bigger, but truth be knowing, they can't count that high.

We kind of like the fact that we're small. 500,000 people in the whole state. Half a million.

When I decide to head East, I fill up before leaving town because I know there's nothing for 125 miles. Want to head South???? About 147 miles before I see the lights of a gas station. North? 68 miles and there's a casino. Then another 30 and I'll see the lights of a town.

But you know what makes Wyoming, Wyoming? If I break down, somebody will stop. They'll not only stop but they'll give me a sandwich and a coke while they give me a ride to the next town.

I once broke down and had an old rancher ride up on his horse. Gave me a ride to the next place so I could make a phone call. There was nobody home but he said, "Go ahead, make your call, it's ok." I did, when I come out, he was still setting there kind of to watch and make sure I didn't do anything. But he also sat right there and kept me company until the tow truck arrived. That's home, er I mean Wyoming.

There was a previous post on this subject about a month ago if you do a search for it.....there were several communities listed who have group homes for the developmentally delayed population, and you are right, there are several. Are you planning to rent or buy? If you want to rent, in more wyo towns than not, you will have slim pickings. If you buy, starting prices are in the 160,000 range - some places more. Don't know if that is an issue for you or not - alot of wyomingites are struggling right now b/c of the housing situation, esp those moving in.

Lander has 2 providers for DD, CES and the state training school and yes lots of jobs - it's just the housing situation is horrible.

There are some places in Casper that are well known. I had a friend who said the pay in Sheridan was higher at the group homes, by quite a bit. But that's all i know.

I have been keeping my eye on this thread because I started it. Their is a half a million peop in the whole state? WOW!! I am still seriously thinking about moving and I have received many responses from providers for jobs in my field. I am so excited. I am kind of concerned aboutlack of places to live cuz I am a single parent.
