I'm a first-time expecting mother who will be looking for child care around mid-August. I'd love to know if anyone has any recommendations for child care in the area. I'm pricing out smaller home based child care providers and the larger facilities. Is there anything that's in the low $100s or less? We have a pretty tight budget with the economy being the way it is. So far the best rate I've found is $145 a week.

Thanks in advance!

$145 for an infant is not a bad price, IMO. Unless it's family I've always heard closer to $200 for an infant. I'm not sure if I can give the name here, but I'll PM you the name my church/Child Development Center off Oakdale Road if you're close to them. They offer 6 weeks - K4. They teachers are awesome..honestly.

$145 is a very good price, we started with $275/week in VA. You can also look at find child care and day care providers easily ... - totkare.com to find child care providers - some providers list their prices most don't but might give you more options.
