I remember when the Sound of Music had its first showing in our town. My husband and I went to a drive-in to see it. Drive-ins were very popular back then. A huge screen filled one end of the parking lot, and the parking lot was divided into sections and aisles. Each section contained posts with speakers. You drove into a spot, lifted the speaker from its post and hung it over the window on the driver's side of the car.

At the end of the movie some folks forgot the speaker was still...

Easy Recipe Hard-Shell Chocolate Walnut Sauce

You will need margarine, walnuts (or other nuts), and 4 squares of semi-sweet baking chocolate (such as Baker's).

STEP ONE: Melt 1/4 cup margarine or butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts. and cook about five (5) minutes until lightly browned, stirring often.

STEP TWO: Reduce heat to low and add four (4) 1-ounce squares semisweet chocolate. Stir constantly until chocolate melts.

Serve over icecream. (Sauce will harden immediately!)...

Easy Recipe One Pot Dinner / Meat Potatoes and Vegetables in Three Easy Steps:

Step One: Cover the bottom of large saucepan with 4 to 5 medium-sliced raw potatoes, more if the potatoes are very small.

Step Two: Shape one pound of hamburger into a large patty as big around as the inside of your pot. Place on top of the potatoes.

Step Three:
Cut a large onion into slices and place on top of the burger.

Step Four:
Add frozen or fresh carrots and string...

Remember when holidays fell on whatever day they fell on. As a schoolchild, those days always brought a smile to my face, no school!

Years later those who make up the working world decided that they would prefer long weekends and so holidays began to fall on Monday -- thereby bringing about new decisions for us to make. Do we celebrate the holiday on the day for which it was intended or on its original day, or both? I know some people who celebrate both days, and other people who...

Easy Sweet Potato Bake

You will need three regular-size cans of sweet potatoes, and 3 cups of mini-marshmallows, plus the spices.

Step One: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step Two: Pour the sweet potatoes into a bowl and mash them up with the following ingredients:

1/4 cup melted margarine
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

If you wish, use an electric beater (set on medium speed)...
