I am really glad I could enjoy Sarasota before the Big Developers got ahold of it.
Before they paved over the old landmarks like The John Ringling Motel,The Palmer Bank,and the Villa Goodrich Motel all in the name of "Progress"
Now it's a place I hardly recognize with all the Hi-Rises and Blocked Beach Access.
Building More and More Developments just to cater to the allmighty dollar is pretty short sighted IMHO.

People tend to forget the past,but I can recall,
when we rented a 2 bedroom duplex apt.for 50 dollars a Month!
What are rents nowadays 1200..1500...?
When the price of bread reached 2 dollars a loaf(and that's on sale!),I couldn't believe it,in the 50's I can remember bread being 30 cents a loaf.
For example ,a candy bar for a dollar?
We used to get full sized candy bars for 10 cents apiece!
The price of soda too is more than it should be...a 16 ounce...

I don't want to whine about things,but I just have to say something about all the bad Chinese Made devices flooding the Market place
Nowadays.
For Example,the brand new garden hose,that just happens to leak like a sieve.Brand new...(Made in China)
That New Coffee pot only 2 weeks old and now deader than a door nail...(Made in China)
A Very Nice bicycle pump ,not even a year old,wont hold air or seal properly(Made in China)
An led Flashlight not 3 weeks old...LED's...
