Posted 02-18-2019 at 08:28 AM by GrandRapidsNative

Even better? More vegan restaurants seem to be popping up a lot more frequently.

If you like pizza Brick Road Pizza Co. – Specializing in gourmet, traditional and vegan pizzas! is pretty stellar. And...

Posted 02-16-2019 at 02:48 PM by GrandRapidsNative

Michigan has over 100 state parks and countless privately owned campgrounds and Grand Rapids is less than a 45 minute drive to arguable two of West Michigans favorite state parks in Holland and Grand Haven - both offering different types of camping as well as beautiful beaches and gorgeous hiking trails.

Posted 02-13-2019 at 08:43 AM by GrandRapidsNative

West Michigan is home to many lakes and rivers but few I like to Kayak. I have been down many of the rivers around here and my favorite is the Rogue River in Rockford Michigan.

There are two types of trips that I like to do on this river. One I will call the Upper and the other I will call the lower due to the Dam that separates them in Rockford Michigan.

West of Rockford where 11 mile turns North and becomes Grange is a DNR spot where you can put your kayaks in....

Road cycling in and around Grand Rapids and West Michigan

Posted 02-13-2019 at 08:18 AM by GrandRapidsNative

Cycling in West Michigan is growing in popularity recently. Many road bike trails are already in place including a few really long stretches of former Railway track trails or Rails to trails. I have three of my favorite to share that I actively ride on when the weather is nice enough to do so.

Kent Trails:

On the south side of Grand Rapids this 15 or so Mile former railway terminates in Byron Center through a tunnel...
