Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.

What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.

Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)

"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)

"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)

"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)

"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

Becoming The voice Of God

Posted Today at 11:22 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

As Christians, we are to be "fed and led" to become His voice--fed by the Word and led by the Spirit. There are many lazy people in the Church and, for them, the easiest way to hear God is to be fed by someone who is "close" to God. Unfortunately, this mindset has crept into the Church.

The fact is, the only reason that it is important that we hear God speaking to us is so that we can become a voice ourselves--an expression, NOT an opinion.

The only...

From Glory To Glory

Posted Yesterday at 02:05 AM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

God's glory is what we are ultimately wanting to break into. We should want greater glory in our lives and IN OUR MINISTRY TO OTHERS; a glory that is carried out into the world. We are to live from glory to glory. It is an ever-increasing glory.

"But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord." (2 Corinthians 3:18)

There are things...

Scripture Of The Day – November 25, 2021

Posted 11-25-2021 at 10:19 AM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

John 6:55,56,60 -- "'For my flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.' Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, 'this is a hard saying; who can understand it?'"

John 6:63 -- "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh gains nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit and they are life."

Doing An About-Face And Becoming Fully Alive

Posted 11-25-2021 at 12:31 AM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

God said to Zerubbabel, "...Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit..." (Zechariah 4:6,). And His message to us is the same.

Revival begins with repentance, and it begins with us. To repent is to "about face"; to turn the opposite way; to run from the flesh-exalting, death-empowering, grace-hindering pull of religion and step into the power of grace.

God's strength takes residence in our weakness ( 2 Corinthians 12:9-10). We forever have a choice...

Compelled By Christ

Posted 11-24-2021 at 12:38 AM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

One of the first signs of true Christian maturity is having our identity more in citizenship in heaven than our citizenship on the earth.

If our first thought, when asked who we are, is what we do for a living, then we are still married to the world more than to Christ, or at best we are still babes in Christ, regardless of how much knowledge and experience we have.

This is presently the state of more than 90% of all Christians, which is the result of making converts...
