The Old St. Charles Bridge
We must have crossed over that bridge a thousand times. When we were kids we would go that way to get into St. Charles to get fireworks, they were illegal on our side of the river.
One time we were on the bridge throwing malted milk balls down at some guy in a canoe and a bunch of guys we didn't see came running out of the woods and on to the bridge after us. That bridge seemed like it was 5 miles long that day.
The scariest part driving across it was the wicked turn entering St. Charles. I scraped my truck mirrors a couple of times.
When big trucks drove across it you could feel it bounce up and down, and if you were standing below it you could see pieces of stuff fall into the water.
