Moving to Ashland va

Hello, last summer I traveled to different cities in usa, looking for a place to stay. I was homeless with my two children. My last place was at ashland va. I really like this town.I stayed there for 3 weeks, at a hotel, but I didnt have transportation, I walked all the time , I my children and I , were very happy. I wanted to stay there, and never going back to my home. Because it was early summer, I did not look for jobs, because I didnt have anyone to take care of my children. I did went back to my home, Not a good one, And im planning to go back to Ashland, next year.
I dont know anyone there, thats why I need help, where can I rent a nice but not to pricey apt?? where can I work?? my resume is a good one. Thank You
