A Quiet Sunny Sunday Morning with Bigun

Posted 02-20-2011 at 10:49 AM by LookinForMayberry

DH left with our Ritzie dog (12 yr Lhasa) for an over night fishing trip just over an hour ago, and I've been working here at my bench, laying fabric pieces out on the second panel for the crazy quilt pillow I am making for my niece's Christmas present. Bigun', my 21 onth old Beagle-Cocker Spaniel was sleeping in our leather chair, but just got up and is now nagging me to go out and play. It's mid-morning on this sunny Sunday, but still only thirty-three degrees out there -- too cold for me. He doesn't care. He just wants to play.

In the kitchen the rice cooker is still working its job, and I don't want to leave it unattended. It's tough balancing all of our needs and wants.

Yesterday I wanted a quiet day at home. Up at four-twenty, I was on my way to my first Weight Watchers meeting before six. With registration, and orientation, it took what was left of the morning before my hair appointment, and then I had to go home for two loads of laundry, a load of dishes, and then a long dog walk. Before I knew it, it was dinner time, and then it was bed time. The day was gone before I had twenty minutes to think about what I wanted to do. My have to's took care of the whole day. I was hoping for a day of want to's today.

Bigun doesn't care, he just wants to play.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could just rise from our nap, walk over to our keeper and wiggle a bit to get our way?

It works for him....

Get ol Biguns a Treadmill LOL!! Make him run for awhile on that... hmmm maybe ol George Jetson had something there, eh?

My late Mother in law used to make quilts...we have a number of them, even a velvet one... Beautiful things, but, my Wife refuses to do things like that anymore... Guess it was too much of a pain when she 'had' to do it, so, she gave it up...oh well. Its a good hobby...and keepsake.

    I wish you well...

Glad to hear about ol' Bigun, Lookin'. You've made me wonder about him for a few months. Glad to hear he's doing great!
