Veterans Still Serving in Muncie Indiana USA

I am sometimes asked why many of the Veterans in our VFW, American Legion or AMVETS post do so much volunteerism in the American Red Cross, or other local community institutions.
My reply is pretty much the same each time depending of course on the reason being asked. But it comes down to this; Uncle Sam spent many thousands of dollars training us and we are among the most able and best trained in any given community in America to be the ones to pitch-in and help out when the going gets tough.
There are few organizations aside from scouting that can make that claim. Every person who has ever been in the Military services will have their own story to tell about Basic, advanced training and of course their assignments; but the real story is they answered the call to duty and served this Country in whatever capacity they were asked to serve, and came away with some really wonderful training, memories, and now can continue to serve in a meaningful way.

so close to Veterans' Dy this post is commended for being so positive. On the other hand, a life where you're special with a bright future is sometimes a disaster. Take for example a veteran with hopes to build a better life comes back to a place to where those wishes, dreams are shattered by daily routine not being any different than before that training and service. Depression takes over, mental health is too much of a problem and FAILURE comes in. Veterans need more help in readjusting into joining the REAL WORLD. I have no solution only doubts.
