pot nets

Posted 05-25-2012 at 10:20 AM by david graf

If you are seeking a quiet inexpensive place near the water you might think pots nets is the answer as my wife and I did several years ago.
Our home cost 120,000 and was across from a dock, we thought a perfect location. Our lot rent was 8,000 a year. We were overjoyed at the prospect of living there, boating, crabbing, fishing- all the good stuff.
We had many trees on our property, (their property) and soon found out that each time the wind blew our roof and yard was full of branches. A couple of very serious winds blew part of the drainage system off.
If you ask for help from the mgmt forget it, not only do they do not help, they have an attitude of don't bother us.
If you are late with your rental payment they charge you a fee and issue a warning letter. If you don't respond for a week or two they have a law firm issue you a citationto appear in court.
When you sell as we tried to do they make it so difficult with inspections and forms.
The sales agent for pot nets inspects the property and goes over it with a fine tooth comb and in fact encourages the buyer to demand perfection. Our house finally sold for 60,000. The buyer demanded that the freshly painted rooms be repainted. we were 2500 miles away and the sales agent had someone she knew repaint 2 rooms for the price of 2,000. (they claimed it needed 2 coats of paint), we weren't there to check it. The sales agent was never satisfied with our clean up and kept insisting that it had to be done and offered to do it for a price.
Beware, you will never sell the home for the price paid since the lot rental stands in the way and if I had to do it over would have never made the emotional decision to buy as we did.
