A Cause To Depart

We are all unique individuals. I credit my uniqueness to being a childhood nerd who grew into an educated woman with an anxiety disorder. I am a strange blend. In this very blog I have written of my love of hiking the desert in utter solitude, of my intimate relationships past and present, and the anguish caused by my mental disorder. I first posted into my blog at the beginning of last year. This entry will make number sixty-eight. I sometimes do more than post entries into this silly blog. At times I will post a comment in a thread, some thought or opinion I might have.
As I have stated in a recent blog entry, I have three “causes”. One of them is the environment. Another cause is the public understanding of mental disorders, of which I am afflicted. My third cause is atheism. Yesterday I did a rare thing; I started a thread in the regular C-D forum. It was in the Atheism and Agnosticism folder. I called the thread The Absurd and the Very Absurd. In the opening post I added a link to a Youtube video ( What Mormons Believe: Their Own Planet - YouTube ). In the video a Mormon woman spoke about how Mormons do not actually believe that they own planets upon their death, and how the notion is a misconception the public has of the Mormon religion. The woman thought it was funny that anyone could possibly think that Mormons could be so preposterous as to believe such a thing as owning planets. In my analysis of the video, I stated that I found it odd that the woman in the video would think planet ownership was silly, but worshipping and building temples to an unseen, inaudible, utterly undetectable being was somehow rational. As I said in that post; it was an example of aberrant cognizance, or some similar term.
The thread was opened for perhaps an hour when it was closed for “Denominational bashing”. The original post was not designed to target Mormons. It was posted as an example of what one atheist sees as, well, aberrant cognizance, in this case; religious aberrant cognizance.
Image a posted video featuring a woman who freely admits to believing in green, one-eyed men from outer space. In the video the woman not only denies claims that the one-eyed, green men have four ears, but she finds the "four ear" allegation silly. Now, would a C-D moderator close the thread for “extraterrestrialist bashing” if someone found fault with the rationale in the woman’s complaint?
To make a long story slightly shorter; I do not insult fellow posters, I make no personal attacks. I have never used vulgar language. But I need to say things that are on my mind, be they expressed in my blog, or in the regular forum. If I cannot point out inherent flaws in religious beliefs, then I see no point in being a part of this website.
To leave on a positive note; my stay here at C-D was often therapeutic, and always enjoyable.

Katie, I want you to know that I do enjoy reading your blog posts, and it's always a joy to have you on here. We have a lot of wonderful and faithful posters who come on here frequently and speak what is on their minds.
I'm very sorry about what's happened to you on the forums, and things like what you've experienced do happen. Please don't give up or be discouraged over things like closed threads on our forums. If nothing else, you've still got a place to go if things on the forum go south (or even if they don't), and that's this blog page. As long as the TOS is followed, you'll be fine.
Please don't leave us. My beliefs may not be the same as yours, but you still have a place here. You write very well, too.
