Relocating to Port Charlotte, North Port, Sarasota area

Hello I am a single mom of two 21 and 13 yr old. I wanted to know which area is more ethnically diverse, Port Charlotte, or North Port, Sarasota? I am not prejudiced, just want me and my kids to feel comfortable. My parents live in Port Charlotte. I have visited quite a few times and I liked it. Are there any other areas close by that you might suggest that would be more suitable for a black family? Thanks for your advise.
