Loose threads

I went out and bought a new shirt and a pair of jeans today. Typically with my work, I buy stuff from goodwill, it's just going to get torn up. This is the first time I've actually popped tags off something in a couple years. It's nice to be wearing something that doesn't have holes in it for a change.

I was talking with my brother over Christmas. He is sowing his oats, bragging a little bit. I explained to him that I was so out of habit of chatting with women with intent, that I don't even think to look at their ring finger. I tried to make a point of looking the other day, and it's just not something I have ever paid attention to. I only thought to look at two. Tough problem to have, I know. HAHA

My 12 year old son, got enough money and gift cards to go out and get himself a pair of $200 headphones. I hope he can take care of them. It seems like a ridiculous amount of money to spend, not for practical purposes, but for fashion? It is challenging to be happy for him, because it goes against all of my sensibilities. There was a thread on here recently about handsome guys and pretty boys, and my son definitely is going for that pretty boy look.

My dogs got into something this evening and they smell so rotten!! Blegh!!!

I got a Christmas card from my 1st wife's best friend today. She is someone who has given up partnerships and has spent her whole life traveling the world. I don't know what she has been up to in the past 10 years, she didn't write anything, but the photo on the card shows her wearing a hard hat and holding a tarantula. She is a crazy chick!, and her photography is amazing!! I'll have to write her and find out where she has been to recently. I think about going off to the Alaska wilderness sometimes. I don't have all the skills it would take to survive, but I'm a little thrilled at the added challenge. I'm am itching for an adventure!! Something completely out of my element. It would be cool if you could buy a package from a company who would just abduct you at some point and take you somewhere unknown, and just leave you. I heard a story from a guy once who had done a lot of traveling, and he would just throw a dart at the map and go there. Figure out a way survive. I don't feel bold enough to choose, which is why I guess I'm more partial to a kidnapping HAHAHA

I have eaten soooo much over the past few days! I love holiday food. I've got a high metabolism, so I am lucky to be able to eat what I want, with not much to worry about. And I can strap on a feed bag! If someone takes the time to make something, you can be sure I will appreciate eating it. I used to cook a lot more back in the day, but my second wife was a vegetarian, and so I kind of got out of the habit of cooking. I wish I had kept a cook book. I can't remember all the little tricks I used.

This isn't what I wanted to talk about tonight. I'm missing a woman. Holy moly. There is a thread tonight talking about giving up sex. No way! Can't imagine. I miss kissing, hugging, nakedness, softness, hardness, wow. I set this deadline for not talking to women until Feb. Giving myself 5 months with out being emotionally or physically connected to anyone. In my head, I tell myself I should be waiting a year. I'm betting that it might take me a couple of months to get warmed back up dating, so I am rationalizing, hoping to split the difference in time. Wow. A year. I sure hope not!!
