09 and Counting...

I find that the new year has brought some positive changes to the job situation for me. My current company is doing much better, and I have actually made a placement. Through the entire panicked job search I went through in the fall, nothing came about, so I stuck it out here. And wow am I glad.
Even though the country is stuck in this dire economy, there are pockets of hiring (yes, hiring!!) activity to be found. I think a lot of companies are beginning to hit rock bottom just about now.
If I can make it through the late spring/early summer of '09 with this position, I should probably be pretty safe.
2009's shaping up to be better than 08 already...
