End Times

So today, I got a lecture about the rapture, and this truck driver carrying on about how, when it does happen, he hopes it's while he's not driving, because he'd like to keep his record accident free.
Now, I'm not religious, whatsoever, but I do seem to recall having read a passage which read, "Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven."... that's Matthew 6:1, and, the way this truck driver was carrying on, he seemed to have forgotten that part.
Which makes me wonder... several times I've heard the holy rollers talk about how those who do get to "the Kingdom of Heaven" will be vastly in the minority.. so, that brings me to a "what if" question...
Given that the entrance requirements are stated as being extremely strict and selective, what if this rapture had already happened... and nobody was deemed worthy?
