Liverpool left out of HSR network

Posted 03-18-2015 at 04:12 AM by John-UK

The 20 Miles More (20MM) is putting their case for a dedicated HS2 link to the city. The city is marginalised and being omitted will suffer a great economic negative.

TEN-T. The European Commission has a network for Europe set down. Liverpool is on it, however the UK government is omitting the city. Technically the UK government is breaking the law.

TEN-T, the EU plan for the rail network, has Liverpool on the European HSR network. Leeds is omitted. It is OK to add cities but not omit. All their documents have Liverpool on it. Liverpool, is the hop to a European capital city - Dublin. The above video states that not having Liverpool is illegal, and HMG is braking EU law.
