I'd try to avoid living in central Arlington. The best neighborhoods are in far north, south, and west Arlington. If you're going to be renting an apartment, North Arlington is chock full of complexes. The area around River Legacy Park is very nice and has affordable but well-maintained complexes. Most are older though. Arlington was pretty much built out by the 80s.

As for night life, you're not going to find much in Arlington itself unless you're into strip malls and dive bars. Most is centered around UTA. You can also check out the Highlands shopping center. But for date nights and what not, you'd be better off going to Fort Worth or Dallas.
Okay thanks for the insight.
