Same Old Crap

Posted 08-09-2016 at 05:52 AM by peebola

Still here...still unemployed.

Shocking I tell you just shocking [NOT].

I took the month of July off from applying for jobs, as I am sick of the whole crappy job search/interview process. Lo and behold, I began applying for jobs yesterday and the same crappy jobs were posted...you know...the jobs I applied to months ago and never heard a word from.

Why bother ever?

Which is why I took a month off in my job search...job searching in the rust belt with my "I guess I have no education and no job experience" is a complete waste of time.

Yeah...I am in a bad mood. I deserve to be.

The last job interview for a data analyst position which I am 100% qualified for (where I was going to try the "think positive- law of attraction" thing) was a complete bust. I had to speak to three women (two were older than me), and try to decipher their "corporate speak" interview questions.

For example:

Interviewer: "Tell me how you handle low energy team players as opposed to high energy in your workflow?"

Me: "Are you asking me how do I deal with co-workers who are slower and less able to to do their job as opposed to coworkers who are quick and can do their job in their sleep?"

Interviewer: [startled and taken aback] "Ummm...yes"

----------------------------------------------
Interviewer: "If you were a pioneer and came to the US, where would you go? 1. To the wild west where there were no rules. 2. To the midwest were there were some rules but also some lawlessness. 3. To the East where there are many rules and society is set up for no lawlessness."

Me: "I guess the Midwest."

The interview went on like that for 40 minutes. Talk about hell. Plus I had to interview with the woman who was leaving the data analyst job. In her mind NO ONE is good enough or qualified for the job, only she can run the two queries a day (that someone else set up for her years ago). Everyone else be damned.

At the end of the hellish interview, they told me they were not going to hire probably until September, maybe. Okey, dokey. In my opinion they should just let it go and hire no one. Seemingly, nothing needs to be done in the job as they did not say one word to me about the job or what one would be doing at the job.

Anyway, I will never hear from the again just like the rest of my 14 interviews.

Since April 2016, I have applied to 90 jobs, I have had 14 interviews and 1 job offer (I turned down the job because the pay was too low at $13/hr).

This place can suck it. Applying for jobs can suck it. Law of Attraction can suck it.
