I wasn't gonna keep this going between Denver vs Austin that's carrying on however I can't help but have to question why denvers 1.8 compared to Austins 1.15 GDP matters? In what way does that make Denver better or someone else to like or be more happy there? I'm from Chicago which has a 7 times larger GDP then Denver.. and guess what? I'm more financially successful here in Austin and the economy here is much better across the board..
Austins growth is on a whole different level to Denvers by the way, and UT is light years ahead of the colleges in Denver. Like I said I'll give Denver pro sports hands down obviously, public transportation, and "big city" amenties.. along with more urban though that's not hard cosnideing Austin isn't super urban.. which hobby the way isnt always everyone's top priority in a city.
For what it's worth both are great cities. Growing and economically successful. They have their pros and cons. Denver is indeed a bit further down the road in terms of development just because Austin is pretty new.

The fact that metro Denver is twice as big but its GDP is only 20% larger speaks volumes about importance. Denver really is not more urban. Its no more dense than Austin. It's more sports oriented for sure. It's shopping is not better for sure. 15 years ago yes but not in 2016.
