Top Restaurants In Northeast Ohio

Posted 04-04-2018 at 10:46 PM by OHdanIO

I've been asked a few times what I think some of the top restaurants are here throughout NE Ohio, so here are some of my favorites (in no particular order) that I would recommend checking out.

Roosters
4335 Dressler Rd, Canton, OH
This is by far my favorite place to grab wings. Their wings are probably some of the biggest you'll find in the area and extremely flavorful! My favorite is either garlic-teriyaki mixed (not on the menu) or hot-garlic (not on the menu). They also have an appetizer called onion feathers that I get as a side. They come with a special sauce, and I think they're only $2-$3. This is the perfect spot to go and watch your favorite sports team place or to take your friends/family to.

Angie's Italian Restaurant
343 4th St NW, Barberton
This is one of our family favorites. You MUST get a side salad with whatever you order! It's loaded with cheese, their dressing is great, and I actually look forward to it (I'm not a huge salad eater). This place is always packed on the weekends, so be prepared for a decent wait if you check it out on the weekend at dinner time.

Luigi's Pizza
105 N Main St, Akron
This is one of the BEST pizza spots you'll find throughout NE Ohio. I was first introduced to this last year, and it's now my go-to! The only downfall is they don't accept credit cards. They do have an ATM, but it's not your typical issues and I always see people getting frustrated with it. Aside from their pizza, their Ravioli is great as well!

Rincon Criollo
6504 Detroit Ave, Cleveland
Holy moly! If you're looking for GREAT Puerto Rican food in the Cleveland area (or Northeast Ohio in general), you need to try Rincon Criollo ASAP. Every time my family goes, I want everything on the menu, and I'm not exaggerating. My go-to is usually 2 Jibarito's (steak sandwhich with fried plantains as the buns) and a beef empanadilla. They also have great mofongo (I usually get it with the shrimp or carne frita), morcilla, and bistec. The portions are also pretty large, so you're getting your money's worth!

Harry Buffalo
2120 East 4th St, Cleveland
This is in the heart of downtown Cleveland. When I go up to the Cleveland Indians games, I try to stop at Harry Buffalo beforehand. They have a buffalo mac-n-cheese sandwhich that's amazing! It's not the healthiest, yet it's so good! They have different locations all throughout NE Ohio, so you may not have to worry about driving downtown if you want to check it out at another location.

Sweet Henrie's
1365 Gardner Blvd, Norton
If you're looking for a great mom & pop breakfast spot, look no further! Sweet Henrie's has a great variety of food, and it's all as good as it looks on the menu! I love mom & pop shops, and this place really hits the spot!

Scrambler Marie's
16726 Pearl Rd, Strongsville
This is another great breakfast spot that I'd highly recommend checking out if you haven't already! The food here is fantastic and the service is even better. I usually get the "Uncle Moose's Manhandler skillet which is bacon, ham, sausage, onions, potatoes, a blend of Monterey cheese & cheddar cheese, and an over easy egg on top. They also have delicious Egg's Benedict and stuffed french toast (and I believe bottomless).

Timber Lodge
2809 Pearl Rd, Medina
This is by far my favorite steakhouse. The portions are HUGE (including the beer), the food is deliciously flavorful, and you won't find better service anywhere else (from the hostess, to the bartender, to your wait-staff). I remember we had a party of around 10, all ordered different things, and the waitress didn't write a single thing down. That always makes me nervous, yet sure enough she didn't miss a thing and everything came out fantastic. Timber Lodge is usually packed, so you may want to head over right before the dinner rush.

Swensons
5815 Wales Ave NW, Massillon & 7635 Broadview Rd, Seven Hills
You will NOT find a better burger anywhere. We had family in from Puerto Rico and took them to Swensons. They were hooked instantly and they asked if we could order a few burgers to go. It really is that good! I usually order a Galley Boy, potato teezers with ranch, and a california to drink. Come Fall time, my wife says there's no better milkshake than their pumpkin. I recently tried in-n-out for the first time while I was on the West coast, and I thought Swensons was better by quite a bit (although according to several people, I should have ordered the "animal" from in-n-out).

If you're visiting Northeast Ohio, I hope you find this useful! What are your favorite restaurants throughout NEO?
