Dear Friend,

I love this time of the year! The air feels great! The air conditioner is off for now, as the house feels cooler.

By the way, my wedding anniversary was October 6th - 19 years! Time flies!

Now to the topic at hand:

Buying a home has so many benefits. It gives one a sense of stability with an opportunity to grow equity. Buying a home is a great investment. For homebuyers with credit issues there can be challenges. though.

Here are a few tips that will help those with challenging credit to get on the road to owning their own dream home.

Get your credit report from one of the credit reporting agencies and study it. Are there any inaccuracies? If so, have them corrected. Are there any items on the credit report that you can clear up?

Call several mortgage lenders and shop around. You will need to explain your situation to the mortgage lender. Based on your situation, mortgage lenders can then find the right loan for you.

Create a relationship with your preferred lender so they can guide you, giving you suggestions to help you reach your goal of home ownership - if not now then in the near future.

Loan approval takes into account having a steady income, the amount of debt you have, and past history of paying one's bills on time. It's to your advantage to address each of these items as best you can.

Don't worry! Almost no one has a perfect credit score.

While COVID-19 is limiting our ability to get out and about, now is a good time to work on reviewing your credit and talking to a mortgage lender. Email me if you'd like a few recommendations, including down payment assistance information.
