Just Whining....

Posted 08-10-2009 at 01:47 PM by LookinForMayberry

Used to be I could spend an entire day, sun up to sun down: gardening, hiking, biking. My eyes were keen at any distance. My legs were like pistons. I'd forget to eat I was so into my day.

Being 53 isn't like that, for me. Oh sure, I can go out and power walk my three miles with the others. But then I am down for the rest of the morning.

Strangely, slow walking is harder -- oh my aching back.

I used to laugh at my older friends and family members. I was so callous. I'm not laughing, now.

This morning's drive from Quechee, VT to Salisbury, MA left me weary, so instead of going to the beach I decided to cut out pieces of a tank top from an old skirt. Just that effort of drawing out the pattern pieces and cutting the fabrics has wasted me.

I hate being older -- but, I am not ready to give up the ghost, yet.

Just whining.

Getting old is Hell! I didn't start getting old until I hit about 55 then all of a sudden, I had no energy, and a lot of pain. That is why I decided to take a couple of years off of my job. I thought I would feel better, but I really don't. I am perfectly healthy and require no medications, but this is the first time in my life when my mind can no longer command my body beyond what it wants to do.
I only have the cat to whine to and since he is 23 or 104 in human years, I really don't have a case. LOL

You have a young heart,it is very costful.
A lot of people at your age just can't walk at all,but you can get to the place wherever you want to get.
Even, today you are younger than tomorrow you are.
    So,enjoy your life like before.
