Last Days of Summer

Today is the last day of August and it reminds me that the days of summer are coming to an end. Our children are in school. Football is the topic of conversations. And the days are getting shorter. Shorter is the part I don't like. The one thing I do like about the Texas summers is plenty of daylight hours in warm sunshine to get all the acitivities done. Running up to the store, stopping to grab a bite to eat with friends are life's simple pleasures when the beauty of the Texas skies is filled with its glorious sunshine. And today I am reminded that these long, wonderful days of summer are drawing to an end. I shall rejoice in the day that the Lord has made.
