I am against changing it. If someone goes back and makes major edits to their post days later, all the subsequent posts won't make sense. 90 minutes is plenty of time to read back your post and make sure you are expressing what you really want to say.
Missed the poll, so obviously I'd had been voting to extend the edit time.
I hate reading back and discovering I've made a spelling mistake or that I could have articulated something better. I don't really understand why there's a limit on the time anyway. On other forums where there is no time limit on the edit I don't see a lot of abuse of the function.
Anyway way past the end of the poll but my 2cents anyway.
It would just be easier for the post owner to be able to modify his/her post instead of having to bother a mod every time. Of all the forums in existence, well over 90% do not have such a time limit. While I'm not saying C-D should follow what most of the other forums do, the lack of time limit must exist for a reason.
Would it be possible to see if the predicted "confusion aftermath" would indeed occur? For example, run the forum for a week without the time limit and see if it does cause more harm than good or not. Thanks.
