I'm looking at areas around Huntsville, AL for my cousin and I'm finding that most of the towns I'm pulling up don't have crime stats listed. Does anyone know why? Although I don't put all of my decision making on them, it is a pretty good percentage of what my overall decision is of an area.

Which areas specifically? I just looked at Huntsville and Madison and the stats are there. Perhaps they're not listed for smaller towns but you will get an overall idea looking at the nearest bigger cities?

Yeh, it's the smaller cities. I live in a much smaller town in TN and know the smaller towns here are nothing like the bigger ones in most places. Was hoping I could get more specific info on them. Brownsboro isn't there at all, just by zip code which I think was Madison. Paint Rock, Owens Cross Roads, Woodville, New Market, Princeton, Meridianville, etc.

I believe the reason is that some of those you listed aren't really a city, town or village but a community. I know Paint Rock is a community. There are a lot of those here in AL. Most are policed by the county sheriff and don't have their own PD.

Owens Cross Roads does have its own PD but the Madison County sheriff also patrols part of that area. Not sure if that means anything though..
