This could be heard perhaps when one visits C-D's home page, or maybe the Forums' main page.

But anyway...

Admins could maybe use John Cafferty's "C-I-T-Y", or maybe Glenn Frey's "You Belong to the City".

I'm not necessarily suggesting the original recordings from 1985 (royalty matter?), but maybe the admins know someone with a synthesizer who can cut an instrumental version.

Just a whim...

P.S. Nick Gilder's "Hot Child in the City" doesn't have enough attitude melodically for my idea.

Haha -- what fun! Although I think some people might find it annoying.

If I were to choose a welcoming song for C-D, it would be Neil Diamond's "Beautiful Noise."

I hope City-Data never decides to add music to the home page. That is one of the most annoying things I see on the Internet. I see it as a challenge to find out how fast I can hit the "Back" button.

I'm with you--I hate to think of having to hit Mute every time I visit the forum. There is too much noise pollution on the Internet as it is. Can't we have a moment's peace, ever?

Much as I like Neil Diamond, even I have to admit that it would get tiresome and annoying when hearing any music every single time one visits a website.

I don't think anyone needs to worry about it. I really doubt that TPTB would consider making such a change to the site.
