I love the CD Forum boards mainly because it is a decent family friendly place to share and learn but one thing that bothers me is I don't understand why the moderators or the administrator allows the use of the derogatory and obviously offensive word "teabaggers" and "tea-bagging" when referring to the tea-parties or the participants of a "tea-party" event. Surely they must know what tea-bagging really is, I never went to a tea-party and am not very religious or a prude but I find it a bit offensive.
Given the high standards and level of decency that are expected from posters using the forums is there not some violation of the TOS by using these words ? If not am I the only one who is offended by this and thinks that those words should not be allowed ?

We have an automatic filter which prevents the members from using vulgar, obscene words. However, a lot of words have a double meaning and are not vulgar per se. It would take a moderator reading every single post and that's something not everyone can do around here. I hear what you are saying but for us to be removing everything someone finds offensive, we really wouldn't have much left of the forums...

I don't monitor a forum where this word is used, but I would allow it if I did. The standard here for language is PG-13. The objectionable words you cite are used in that context on basic cable TV in the US. That means they would be permitted in a PG-13 film.

Although Marka and Bowie are correct the word (word combination) can have a vulgar connotation. If used in that manner to describe that particular act or as sexual innuendo, then please use the "report this post" feature in order for it to be reviewed by a moderator.

Personally, I'm guessing that the term has an off color alter-meaning but I'll decline to google it to find out what it is. I'm not being sarcastic here...I just don't know. I'm fairly well read et al so I'm guessing that maybe the term isn't as mainstream as some might think.

I had never heard it used in the connotation that some are concerned about except here on CD.

Wow. I had no idea what that was and I am a 44 year old male. Had to go to an urban dictionary to get the deffinition. I hardly would think that the term is being used to describe those that go to tea parties but may be another use of the term, such as they are bagging on those that attend the tea parties. Wouldn't you say? Or do you think that someone is intentionally being vulgar?
