The Sahel is defined as a sub-Saharan zone, and Bamako and Niamey are both south of what is generally recognized as the Sahel. Chad is also Sub-saharan, with nearly all its population south of the Sahel.

I don't care where the majority of the population lives, half of those countries are located in the Sahara and have much different views than Sub-Saharan Africans in general.

Senegal is the first country on your list, and it is 94% Islam. Nigeria is 48% Islam, just five points behind Chad. When Muslims outnumber Christians in Nigeria, will Nigeria stop being sub-Saharan?

No because Nigeria is not in the Sahara.
